Linhui Zhai

Member

Dr. Zhai earned his Ph.D. in Chinese Materia Medica from Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine (NJUCM) from September 2019 to March 2023. He served as an Associate Research Fellow at the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) from October 2022 to April 2024, and has been an Associate Professor at Tongji University since April 2024. He is currently an Associate Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Tongji University School of Medicine. Dr. Zhai is a member of the Youth Committee of the Biochemical and Biotechnological Pharmaceuticals Specialty Committee, Shanghai Pharmaceutical Association. His research focuses on the mechanisms of metabolic diseases and tumors using proteomics and post-translational modification proteomics. He pioneered the first proteomic landscape of lung adenocarcinoma and discovered a series of novel biomarkers (Cell, 2020); comprehensively characterized the multidimensional molecular panorama and novel mechanisms of breast cancer–lymph node metastasis (Protein & Cell, 2026); revealed a novel negative regulatory mechanism of homologous recombination repair through RAD51 K285 succinylation in tumors (Mol Cell, 2026); and developed a photo-click chemistry-based technology for spatiotemporal dynamic analysis of lysine modification-regulating enzyme–substrate interactions (Nat Commun, 2024). As first or co-first author, he has published over 20 papers in journals including Cell, Mol Cell, Nat Commun, Protein Cell, Arthritis Rheumatol, Cancer Lett, Sci China Life Sci, Acta Pharmacol Sin, Genom Proteom Bioninf, and Mol Cell Proteomics. His research has been featured in China’s 2020 Important Medical Advances and the 2020 Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Report, and has been widely reported by domestic and international media including China Central Television (CCTV) and EurekAlert.
