Haolong Li

Dr. Li earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics from Peking Union Medical College from September 2019 to June 2024. Since August 2024, he has been serving as a Technologist at Peking Union Medical College Hospital. As a major contributor, Dr. Li employed DIA-MS and antibody microarray technologies to map the plasma proteomic landscapes of primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) and Behçet’s disease (BD), representing the largest protein coverage to date, and revealed the impact of PBC treatment status with ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) and BD organ involvement on plasma protein expression profiles (Arthritis & Rheumatology, 2023). He further validated six differential proteins significantly associated with PBC diagnosis and UDCA treatment response, with TGFBI being reported for the first time in PBC (authorized patent CN202410379782.8), and combined these proteins with others to construct high-precision diagnostic and UDCA efficacy prediction models for PBC using machine learning. Concurrently, through integrated lipidomics analysis, he identified significant disruptions in lipid metabolic pathways, providing new clues for elucidating the pathogenesis of PBC (Frontiers in Immunology, 2023). In addition, focusing on the clinical significance of protein-based biomarkers in PBC, he contributed to revealing the predictive value of anti-mitochondrial M2 antibodies (AMA-M2) for PBC onset (Clinical and Molecular Hepatology, 2025), and elucidated the expression significance of IL-8 in PBC (Chinese Journal of Laboratory Medicine, 2024).
