Professor Zhen Liu is a Distinguished Professor and doctoral supervisor at Nanjing University, recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. He received his Ph.D. from the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1998. In 2014, he was awarded the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and in 2016, he was selected for the Jiangsu Province “333 High-Level Talent” program (Tier 2). He has led over 20 major research projects including the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, National Major Scientific Instrument Development Project, and NSFC Key Projects. He has published over 200 papers in journals such as Chemical Society Review, Accounts of Chemical Research, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Nature Protocols, Advanced Science, ACS Nano, and Chemical Science, with an h-index of 58. For four consecutive years, he has been selected as an Elsevier “Highly Cited Chinese Researcher”. He has edited and co-authored 2 books and published 7 book chapters, with 18 authorized patents. He received the First Prize of the Science and Technology Award of the China Association for Instrumental Analysis twice in 2011 and 2017, the Phenomenex & Analytical Scientist Silver Award in 2016, and the American Chemical Society Award Lecture in Advances in Measurement Science in 2020.
