The 6th Asia-Pacific Human Proteome Organization Conference - Second Notice

Dear Scholars and Experts,

The 6th Congress of the Asia-Oceania Human Proteome Organisation (AOHUPO) will be held at the China National Convention Center (Beijing) from May 5 to 7, 2012. On behalf of the conference organizers, we have the honor and privilege to invite you to attend this congress.

In 2002, AOHUPO was established by a group of renowned proteomics scientists from the Asia-Oceania region. Through the concerted efforts of its founders, the organization has grown into one of the key regional branches of the Human Proteome Organisation. Since its inception, AOHUPO has been committed to fostering academic exchanges in proteomics among research teams across the region. To date, AOHUPO has successfully organized five biennial Asia-Oceania Human Proteome Congresses. With the rapid advancement of proteomics research in China, the AOHUPO Council has decided to hold the 6th Congress in Beijing, China, in May 2012.

The theme of this congress is “Proteomics: Better for Life.” The scientific program will cover a wide range of research areas, including the Human Chromosome Proteome Project, the International Proteome–Protein Interaction Initiative, disease proteomics and personalized medicine, plant and microbial proteomics, pharmaceutical proteomics and protein drugs and their in vivo metabolism, structural proteomics, protein post-translational modifications, quantitative proteomics, bioinformatics, and novel technologies and methods in proteomics. This congress will provide a valuable opportunity to enhance mutual understanding among experts and scholars in the field of proteomics, not only within the Asia-Pacific region but also globally, and will serve as an excellent platform for fostering information exchange and research collaboration in proteomics and related interdisciplinary fields. We expect over a thousand scientists to attend and participate in the academic exchange. We are confident that during the congress you will fully appreciate the excitement of proteomics, experience the warmth and friendship of scientists from around the world, and enjoy the rich cultural activities that Beijing, the capital city, has to offer.

We warmly welcome your participation and look forward to meeting you in Beijing.
