Member

Dr. Guan earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Hamburg from September 2016 to June 2020. He conducted postdoctoral research and served as an Assistant Research Fellow at the First Affiliated Hospital of Southern University of Science and Technology from October 2020 to August 2024. Since September 2024, he has been a Lecturer at Henan University. Dr. Guan is a Youth Editorial Board Member of Glycoscience & Therapy. Dr. Guan has long been engaged in multidisciplinary research on precise characterization of protein glycosylation, covering the development of high-throughput glycan derivatization technologies, mass spectrometry-based methodologies, accurate interpretation algorithms, and biomarker discovery for major diseases. In these fields, Dr. Guan has completed multiple projects including the Young Scientists Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. In recent years, as first (co-first) or corresponding author, he has published over ten SCI papers in journals including Analytical Chemistry, Advanced Science, and Journal of Proteome Research. He has independently developed multiple glycosylation analysis tools, including nMatch, nQuant, Glyco-Id, and GlycanCalculator, addressing current limitations in glycan identification and quantification algorithms. Additionally, he has filed two invention patents (both under substantive examination) based on his glycan analysis systems: a rapid and precise quantitative glycomics system (Application No.: 202511372482.8) and a MALDI-MS-based glycan analysis system (Application No.: 202511715771.3). In summary, Dr. Guan has established a complete system for precise glycan analysis, encompassing glycan database construction, efficient derivatization strategies, and accurate analysis tools. He has also led research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Key Science and Technology Program of Henan Province.
